Session 1: Introduction to CUBE Inventory Module

Goal: Understand CUBE’s inventory capabilities and ecosystem, and recognize how inventory management connects to the broader CUBE project, service, and financial workflows.

Learning Objectives
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Access and navigate the Inventory Module and its core submodules.
- Understand the purpose of each Inventory component: Vendors, Parts, Materials, Purchase Orders (PO), Inventory Levels, and Reports.
- Recognize the role of mobile scanning and field updates in real-time inventory control.
- Comprehend the strategic importance of inventory management within the full CUBE lifecycle, from estimating through execution and service.

INV1.1 Accessing the Inventory Module
- Navigation from CUBE Home Screen.
- Overview of user roles and permissions for Inventory access.
- Introduction to desktop vs. mobile interfaces.
INV1.2 Overview of Core Submodules
- Vendors: Managing supplier profiles and default purchase settings.
- Parts: Creating and cataloging individual stockable items.
- Materials: Tracking material groups and assembly items.
- Purchase Orders (PO): Creating and managing procurement activities.
- Inventory: Real-time tracking of stock quantities and locations (main warehouse, trucks, field).
- Reports: Running standard and custom reports for inventory audits, stock analysis, and purchasing trends.
INV1.3 Mobile App Overview and Mobile Scanning Capabilities
- Overview of CUBE Mobile Inventory App:
- Scanning barcodes/QR codes.
- Checking stock availability from the field.
- Receiving parts and updating inventory locations.
- Benefits of real-time updates: Reducing stockouts, improving billing accuracy, and minimizing manual entry errors.
INV1.4 Mobile App Overview and Mobile Scanning Capabilities
- How Inventory ties into:
- Estimating: Accurate part/material costs feeding project quotes.
- Project Management: Ensuring job sites are stocked before tasks begin.
- Service Management: Technicians pulling parts for repairs and maintenance.
- Billing: Tracking material consumption for time and materials (T&M) invoices.
- Asset Management: Recording installed materials tied to service contracts.

Hands-On PreviewĀ (Optional if time allows)
- Navigate to the Inventory Dashboard.
- Open a sample Vendor and Parts list.
